Chillpack’s Origin Story
A Mission Born from Real Needs
Chillpack was born in the Iraqi desert. Rex Eiserer, Chillpack’s Founder and Inventor, commanded a troop of Blackhawk helicopters. Each day was a grind – trying to maintain combat readiness, flight efficiency and crew safety – in some of the most demanding conditions on earth. Coolers existed, but they were large, bulky, ate fuel and were best suited for static locations where energy efficiency was not important.
When Rex returned home, he went to work. Chillpack targeted this unmet need with a big idea: “What if you could get powerful cooling in a package light enough to carry by a single person, set up quickly, and run off modest power?”
In short, Chillpack didn’t reinvent evaporative cooling — but reimagined it. We’ve made it truly portable, practical, collapsible, and deployable, and patented those innovations. That reimagining of a proven technology, turns a well-known physical principle into a powerful competitive advantage — especially in places where rigid HVAC or large swamp coolers just won’t work.
